Divorce
Mediation is the positive way of resolving divorce conflicts. Both
parties will speak with the mediator before the first mediation session
and both will asked to come to the table in good faith and with a
positive attitude for change and the future. If children are
involved the mediator will focus on the best interest of the child.
Even if attorneys are already involved, mediation can bring both parties
together to quickly and effectively solve the problem.
Mediation is a positive non-confrontational process where by the parties
in a divorce can come to a mutually beneficial solution while
maintaining civility and avoiding a tiring court battle. Our
mediators work with other service providers to provide disputing couples
with what they need to make the mediation succeed.

Mediation can solve divorce issues regarding:
- Whether
Divorce is the best option for the
parties.
- Living situations and Visitation for the
children.
- How to properly manage
shared care and custody of the children.
- Working with each other to solve parenting
issues.
- Division of assets (marital home, other
homes, cars, personal property, etc.).
- Proper Financial
support and care (medical, psychological, etc.) for family
members.
Elder Law and Estate Issues
Significant issues with a parent and grandparent's Will, or lack
there of, will often ariseonly after the death of our loved ones.
Money can easily tear a family apart and tends to leave the
estate with little money and large legal bills on both sides of the
isle. Mediation can bring the parties together, with or
without attorneys, to focus on salvaging the family unit and
resolving the underlying issues.
Parents and their adult children often fall into conflicts as
potentially failing memories and control issues arise. Most of
these conflicts are initially created by one party attempting to
make positive, but sometimes overreaching decisions for the other
party. Mediation can bring parents and their adult children
together again to solve issues such as Wills, Living Wills,
Healthcare Issues, Housing Issues, Short-Term Care Issues, Long-Term
Care Issues, and More. Again, the mediator will help the
parties focus on the family unit and the strong bond that underlies
such a relationship.
Contract Conflicts and Other
Civil Disputes
Mediation is perfect to solve problems and resolve
disputes in construction issues, contract disputes, small and large
monetary claims, and equity claims. Any case that is already in the
courts and scheduled for court assisted arbitration, is ripe to to be
mediated. Even larger cases that are not eligible for court
assisted arbitration are also great candidates for a quick and effective
resolution at mediation.
Even complex and emotional issues are better served
in mediation as both sides can come to an amicable resolution that can
often solve underlying issues and allow both parties have closure.
In many cases a lengthy litigation only causes more tension and angst
between the parties and can lead to further litigation or appeals.
Mediation often solves the entire issue one or two combined sessions;
with almost no risk of appeals or further litigation.
